Hi! I’m Jingwen, but you can call me Karena :)
Thanks for stopping by my site.
I’m pursuing an M.F.A. in Themed Entertainment Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). I hold a B.F.A. in Directing and Production from the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing, where my background in theater and live production began.
I’m interested in developing stories, worlds, and interactive experiences around original and existing IP. I hope to explore how a story can grow across games, physical spaces, and live experiences, giving people different ways to become part of its world.
I work through writing, spatial modeling, and prototyping, and I’m learning programming and real-time engines to expand what I can make. My theater background also keeps me attentive to collaboration and the practical work of bringing an idea to life.
When I’m not working, you might find me traveling with Row, a virtual character I created. He’s a shy little boy who tends to hide somewhere in the scenery, leaving me to find him and imagine what his life there might be like.
If we find him, maybe he’ll have a story for us. :)
